It turns out there’s a bit of an issue that needs fixing to keep you and your car safe on the road.
What’s the Deal?
So, here’s the scoop: Kia discovered that a small part in the engine – specifically, the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly – isn’t holding up as it should.
Over time, it can wear out from the heat of the engine. If it gets worn enough, it might start leaking oil. And oil leaking onto hot engine parts? That’s not good. It could lead to a fire in the engine area while you’re driving. Yikes!
How Serious Is This?
We’re talking about 36,248 cars that might be affected by this. And while the chances are slim, the risk of a fire is something you definitely want to avoid. Safety first, right?
What’s Kia Doing About It?
Kia’s on it! They’re calling back these cars to fix the problem at no cost to you. What they’ll do is replace that troublesome oil feed pipe and hose assembly with a new one that’s up to the challenge.
What Should You Do?
Kia will be sending out letters to car owners starting April 26, 2024, with all the details on what to do next.
